Terms & Conditions

At Silverwitch, we take the welfare and health of your dog during its stay with us very seriously.

These Terms & Conditions are designed to ensure your dog has a happy and healthy time while staying with us and are therefore non-negotiable.

Abusive or threatening behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated and will result in refusal of entry to the kennels.

We insist that all dogs must be fully vaccinated and have had all the necessary annual booster injections against Hepititis, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Parvo-virus and within the previous 12 months prior to visiting/staying with us.

The Kennel cough vaccine is also required and this must be administered at least 14 days prior to boarding/visiting us. As kennel cough is a live vaccine your dog is carrying the infection in their system within this 14 day window. We are therefore not willing to risk the welfare of our boarders or your dog during this period.

Failure to provide a valid vaccine record upon arrival, which does not adhere to our vaccine requirements will result in your dog(s) being refused entry on site and your deposit will be non refundable.

Please note that valid vaccination certificates for all the above conditions must be presented on arrival or unfortunately, your dog will be turned away.Details of your dog’s own vet must also be supplied in case of an emergency

In the interests of all our boarders, dogs showing symptoms of any of the diseases listed above or Kennel Cough on arrival will unfortunately be refused entry to the kennels.

For their own comfort, we prefer all dogs who stay with us to be receiving parasite treatment for worms, ticks and fleas.

All known health and behavioural conditions must be declared. We are happy to follow prescribed veterinary treatments.

In the event of illness or injury we reserve the right to seek treatment for your dog from a registered veterinary surgeon of our choice if necessary. Any veterinary fees plus a £25 facilitation fee will be added to your account.

All female dogs must be spayed

Our rates are charged from the day of drop off to the day of collection. This is non negotiable.

When a booking is made, a 50% deposit must be paid and a registration form must be returned to secure the reservation.

The deposit is non-refundable, unless you let us know two weeks prior to the start date of your dogs’ stay that you wish to cancel or change your dates.

If you want to book your dog in at short notice ( 2 weeks or less prior to departure) we will require payment in full. The same cancellation/refund policy applies, as above.

To assist with cleaning and re-stocking, for the wellbeing of our boarders and our neighbours and for environmental health reasons, we’re only open to the public at set times of the day.

Pick up and Drop off times are non-negotiable. If you drop off or collect out with these times you will be charged at the daily rate.

For the safety of livestock in the surrounding countryside, all dogs must be delivered to and picked up from the kennels securely attached to a lead.

We require an emergency contact number in case your dog has to be taken home. This must not be you or somebody who is going away with you. It should be someone who can be contacted in an emergency.

For personnel safety reasons we will not board a dog who is known to be aggressive either towards people or other dogs. Similarly, we don’t board breeds highlighted by, or similar to, those described in the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 or who have had a Dog Control Notice previously served on them.
If a dog in our care bites another dog or a human, we reserve the right to report the incident immediately to the dog warden, who will take appropriate action.

Kennel sharing is only permitted by dogs from the same household.

If a dog is not collected within 14 days of the agreed collection date, and we have been unable to contact the owners, we reserve the right to take steps to responsibly re-home the dog.

Provision of bedding, food (from the range of food in stock) and toys for your dog during their stay with us is included in the daily rate. If you choose to bring your own food, bedding or toys, we can’t guarantee their safe return.

All dogs are boarded at the owner’s own risk.

Admittance to the Kennels is strictly by appointment only.

Any overstays (collection out with collection times) will be charged at the daily rate. Exceptions will only be made at our discretion.
